Gas Processing Facility Upgrade (FEED & EPIC):
Major IOC in Nigeria – Algarh completed a comprehensive Front-End Engineering Design for the upgrade of an onshore gas processing facility in the Niger Delta, followed by full EPIC execution of the project. The scope included debottlenecking the inlet separators, adding compression capacity, and revamping the gas dehydration unit. Our team delivered the FEED study outlining multiple optimization options, enabling the client to select a cost-effective solution. Upon approval, we executed the detailed engineering, procured all long-lead equipment (including compressors and dehydration packages), and managed the construction works on a live facility without production deferment. The project was delivered on schedule and 5% under budget, and the upgraded facility increased gas output by 20% for the client. This successful project showcased Algarh’s ability to deliver complex brownfield upgrades safely and efficiently, reinforcing the client’s confidence in our end-to-end project management.
Oil Pipeline Construction & Commissioning:
Regional E&P Company – We were contracted to construct a 14-kilometer, 10-inch oil pipeline connecting a cluster of onshore wells to a central processing facility. Algarh handled route survey and design, obtaining right-of-way approvals and ensuring community engagement throughout. During construction, our crews executed trenching and pipe laying across challenging swamp terrain, utilizing specialized equipment and modular pontoon systems. High-grade pipeline materials were procured, and each weld joint underwent x-ray NDT inspection to ensure integrity. After welding and field joint coating, the pipeline was subjected to hydrostatic testing and successfully commissioned on first pass. Despite heavy seasonal rains, our robust project controls kept the work on track. The project was completed with zero safety incidents, reflecting our strong HSE commitment. The new pipeline now safely transports 30,000 barrels of oil per day, helping the client achieve more efficient field evacuation and reduced trucking costs.
Offshore Platform Decommissioning Project:
National Oil Company – Algarh was engaged to plan and execute the decommissioning of a small offshore wellhead platform and associated pipelines that had reached end-of-life. In the planning phase, our engineers conducted a thorough study to determine the optimal decommissioning method, including an environmental impact assessment and hazard analysis. We developed a detailed decommissioning program in compliance with NUPRC regulations and international guidelines. Offshore execution involved plugging and abandoning three wells, cutting and removing the platform jacket and topsides, and safe recovery of 5 km of flowlines. Our dive teams and heavy-lift partners worked in tandem to dismantle the structure in a controlled manner, ensuring no debris was left on the seabed. All recovered materials were brought onshore for proper disposal and recycling – scrap metal was recycled, and any hazardous waste was handled by licensed facilities in line with environmental laws. Finally, the seabed site was surveyed to confirm it was clear of obstructions and the project was signed off by regulators. The decommissioning was completed on time and under the allocated budget, with full regulatory compliance and no environmental incidents. This project underscores Algarh’s capability to undertake complex offshore decommissioning safely, leveraging our project management strength and environmental expertise.
